WATER-BASED ADHESIVES
These silicate-based blends provide a very strong, economical bond. They are non-hazardous and ideal for foundries where glued pieces can sit in place during the cure cycle.
REFCOSTIX 1000
A medium-viscosity adhesive designed for no-bake sand mold and core assemblies. As a water-based product, it is a cost-effective choice for shops that do not need to move glued components immediately, offering a full cure in approximately two hours. It is also an effective, non-hazardous mold seal to prevent parting-line runouts. It is versatile enough for application via squeeze bottles, pails, or pumping equipment.
REFCOSTIX 1003
Specifically engineered for large core assemblies and heavy-duty mold sealing, this high-viscosity sodium silicate adhesive provides a robust bond and can be applied by bottles or specialized pumping systems. For added flexibility, the viscosity can be adjusted on-site with minor water additions to suit specific process requirements.
REFCOSTIX 1004
Our highest viscosity silicate-based adhesive, REFCOSTIX 1004, is built for the most demanding large-scale core assemblies and mold sealing tasks. Its thick, trowelable consistency ensures it stays exactly where it is applied, making it the premier choice for filling significant gaps or securing massive core components.

REFCOSTIX 6000
(TE, Blue, Red)
Our fastest drying core paste designed for high-speed production. Designed to form a tacky bond within two minutes, this series is ideal for immediate assembly and repair of porous sand surfaces. It is available in three grades-Thin (TE), Standard (Blue), and Extended Storage (Red)-to provide the exact viscosity and flow for specific plant needs.
REFCOSTIX 6000SM
Developed for complex builds that require extra alignment time, the SM formulation extends the work time to more than four minutes to prevent premature skinning during assembly. This ensures maximum adhesion for complex builds while still maintaining a rapid final set time.

REFCOSTIX 3000

REFCOSTIX 3400 / 3400M
A unique, proprietary blend of clays and resins designed to replace traditional “cope rope.” It conforms to irregular surfaces and compresses uniformly under cope weight to eliminate runouts and flashing. Choose 3400 (Standard Viscosity) for smaller molds and general sealing, or 3400M (High Viscosity) for larger molds and wider parting-line gaps.
REFCOSTIX 4100
This heat-activated shell paste is specially formulated for hot shell sand applications. Utilizing the latent heat of the shell process (475°F–600°F), this phenol-formaldehyde resin slurry creates a superior, rapid bond while minimizing smoke and fumes during pouring.
